Little Sturgeon freezing in....
Dusk settled over the fields in Little Sturgeon
Ripples on the Rocks
Loved the way the water rippled down over the rocks and froze in place
A Time to Reflect
As 2018 winds down to a close, it's time to reflect on the year gone by. Some of us lost loved ones, some of us experienced the joy of birth. Let's all be grateful for the beauty of the earth that each of us finds in the lens of a camera - especially while wandering Door County!
Closed for the Season
This frozen dock waits patiently for next summers fun - the patter of little feet on it's warm top, squeals of delight as they jump off the end and into the water.
Two days later and it's icy as far as you can see. Don't be fooled though! I threw a rock in, and it sank!
Lots of open water! I couldn't watch the movement for too long, it made me feel a bit seasick! Please see Sunday photo to see how quickly the view changed!
This lonely bird paid no attention to the falling snow as he searched for his dinner
The way the snow etched each and every branch - it was a bit dizzying to look at!
While it appears to be a cold winters day, the beauty of the barren trees etched in their fresh layer of snow is breathtaking. The sun is breaking thru the clouds, and after a brief sparkling display of light, the sun melts the snow, the trees lose their definition and wait for the next snowfall to redefine their natural beauty.
I've been coming to Door County for 20 years - as often as I possibly can!
I am not a professional photographer, I just enjoy taking pictures of the amazing beauty I find in the world, and Door County seems to have more than it's fair share of beautiful things to photograph!
I hope you enjoy looking at my photos as much as I've enjoyed taking them!
