I had to post one final kayak photo on CDC. I didn't think I would be able to get out this month following the polar vortex. Everything was iced in until today.
Cana Island Lighthouse
Thought I would post one last picture of the Cana Island Lighthouse - my favorite lighthouse in Door County.
A Cold Day at Cave Point
While the cliffs of Cave Point are often iced, you don't often see the water frozen.
Cave Point at Sunset
The trail from Cave Point to Whitefish Dunes State Park has some pretty spectacular views now, and you can even catch a sunset.
The polar vortex, with sub zero temps and strong winds, has turned Cave Point into a magical winter scene.
Weathering the Storm
This female cardinal used the shelter of the cedar as protection from the winter storm. The cardinals spent the afternoon bouncing between the feeder and the cedar.
The doe decided it would be a good idea to dig around the snow under the bird feeders. Her two companions stayed in the woods.
Today I feel like I am living in a snow globe. Glad to be inside looking out.
Super Blood Wolf Moon
My granddaughters insisted I take a picture of the super blood wolf moon before it set over the Bay.
Pileated Gone Punk
This male pileated woodpecker was showing off his various hair styles - including this punk look.
